The VF16 took the touring-grade Midas signal path and made it portable. Sixteen award-winning Midas microphone preamplifiers in a compact analogue surface, married to a 24-bit FireWire audio interface — the Venice approach to bridging the live stage and the recording session in one chassis.
Eight mono and four stereo input channels feed 16 award-winning Midas mic preamps — the same family of circuits found on the consoles that have headlined every major touring rig. Each channel runs the industry-acclaimed Midas XL3 4-band swept-channel EQ, the curve that defined a generation of front-of-house sound.
A 24-bit FireWire interface streams up to 16 inputs and 16 outputs to a DAW. Analogue or FireWire input selection on every channel makes virtual soundchecks a one-switch operation — record the show, rehearse the mix the next morning on the same desk. Six aux sends with pre/post-fade switching, four audio subgroups and a 7 x 2 matrix all route to FireWire outputs for stem capture.
Live engineers running small-to-mid venues, theatre productions, houses of worship and project studios that want Midas preamp sound with DAW integration. This product is obsolete; check current Midas digital consoles for active equivalents.
