Midas XL8 Audio System Signal Processor with 4.8 Gigaflops Performance and Dual Redundant Ring Networking
The DL471 is the dedicated audio-system signal processor that gives the Midas XL8 its legendary mix engine. Each unit delivers 4.8 Gigaflops of 40-bit floating-point DSP at 96 kHz, and ten DL471 processors are deployed in every XL8 system for N+1 redundant operation. If any single processor faults mid-show, the others carry the mix without dropping a sample.
The DL471 sits inside a dual-redundant network ring with contra-rotating communication, providing immunity to cable faults that would silence less serious systems. AES50 and Ethernet control ports tie each processor to the DL461 Audio System Signal Routers, and every parameter is recallable from the console or the front panel.
Industry-standard RJ-45 connectors keep wiring familiar to any touring crew. The rugged 1U rackmount chassis and auto-ranging universal switch-mode power supply have been built to survive everything a global tour can throw at them. Designed and engineered in the U.K.
