MICHIGAN CASINO MIXES WITH MIDAS

A combination of rider-friendliness and renowned sound quality make Midas mixing consoles a versatile solution for the varied world of casino sound production.

Sport View Technologies (Brighton, Mich.) worked with the AV team at Leelanau Sands Casino (part of Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos) in Peshawbestown, Mich., to spec new Midas Verona (FOH) and Siena (monitors) consoles in the casino’s main auditorium.

“The smaller-format Midas consoles bring world-tour-quality performance and reliability to an accessible price point, and add that warm Midas sound to whatever style of show is being mixed on any given night,” says Scott Greenleaf of Sport View Technologies.

“I’m very happy with the consoles,” adds Bob Meyer, Production Manager at Leelanau Casino. “In particular, I really like the quality and responsiveness of the onboard EQs and the intuitive control surface. I also love the LED meters in the center section, which make it easy to monitor for immediate control. It’s hands-on mixing. We have a wide range of acts coming through, from country to ‘50s and ‘60s revues to disco nights and all kinds of track shows. We also have around six guest engineers annually, and we know they will all be comfortable mixing on a Midas—the control surface is familiar, and the sound quality is consistently excellent.”
