MIDAS XL8 JOINS DEE DIGITAL’S INVENTORY TO PROVIDE INTERNATIONAL DRY HIRE

Belgian rental company DEE Digital has added a Midas XL8 Live Performance System to its inventory. Formed a year ago as a subsidiary of established rental and production company Dee Sound & Light, DEE Digital has been set up to address the growing demand for digital console rentals.

“We’re looking at a new market with this division, and moving more into the dry hire side of things,” says DEE managing director André Schneider. “There is a growing trend towards productions taking the digital control system out on tour and renting speakers and the rest of the equipment locally.”

As well as carrying out rentals in Belgium, DEE Digital will make its XL8 available to the international market. “With the 24/7 worldwide support of Midas we feel confident in XL8 being out on hire, wherever it is across the globe,” he says. “We are active in full production work across the whole world, from Brazil to Australia, and can provide lights, sound, crew, transport etc, so this new division is a good fit with the rest of our business.”

DEE has used Midas consoles extensively for 15 years, and has a large inventory across the company’s analogue range. “With XL8 you don’t lose any of the advantages of analogue Midas consoles at all,” he says. “What you gain is a total digital audio network, control centre and complete show control, not to mention an unrivalled dynamic control system. The ergonomics, sound and features are Midas all the way.”

The company’s existing clients include Elvis Costello, Seal, Van Morrison, Status Quo, The Waterboys, Julien Clerc, Smokey Robinson, Caetano Veloso, Jill Scott, Sonny Rollins, Royal Flemish Philharmonic and Randy Newman; Monsterjam, NRJ Radio, WWE, as well as corporate including L'Oreal, Mercedes, Electrabel, Disney On Ice and Hewlett Packard.
