MIDAS XL8 DEMO AT TOP CANADIAN CASINO
Two dozen of Southern Ontario’s top Audio Professionals recently attended a demo session for the new Midas XL8 digital live performance system at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
A state-of-the-art venue hosting nightly shows by some of the world's biggest stars (Dolly Parton and Michael Bolton are upcoming on the calendar), Fallsview was the ideal place to demonstrate the audio performance, intuitive ergonomics and processing power that put XL8 in a class of its own.
“The Fallsview demo session showed the XL8 in its element,” reported John McArthur of Lebanna Solutions, Inc., who hosted the event. “Our guests heard for themselves what the XL8 can do in the most demanding of production environments. We also wanted to emphasize that the hands-on appeal of a classic analog Midas console is intact in this seriously capable digital system.”
Demo attendees came from all corners of the industry: casinos, A/V houses, regional production companies and performing arts centers.
McArthur added: “Our breakout groups were nice and small—everybody got some time on the desk, mixing multi-track playback and hearing these amazing preamps and EQs in action under their fingers. Midas tech support were on hand to answer any questions and help our guests navigate the XL8, but all the attendees literally got a feel for the board right away.
“The general consensus was that, though the XL8 is a formidable piece of technology, it’s very easy to use and really intuitive for a digital system,” McArthur says, “and that’s what sets it apart. Judging by the uniformly positive response we got from our guests, Midas has definitely established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the digital realm.”
